Volunteer in Cape Town. Leave a lasting mark.
Come and live, work and volunteer with Greenhouse in Cape Town from 26 October to 1 February, with a minimum stay of three weeks.
Bring your energy to practical environmental action, meet people from Cape Town and around the world, and make room for the everyday discoveries that give a stay its meaning. You will stay in a private bedroom at the eco-villa, with all the amenities and high-speed Wi-Fi.
Sunrise beach clean-ups
Three mornings a week, from approximately 7:00–10:00, we travel to different Cape Town beaches for a sunrise swim and beach clean-up.
You begin the day by the ocean, help care for some of Cape Town’s most beautiful natural spaces, and then have the rest of the day free for remote work, exploring the city or simply enjoying life in Cape Town.
Volunteer with Greenhouse projects
Join Greenhouse’s ongoing ecological and community projects, where care for the natural world is connected to care for people and place.
Once a month, you will join the team behind our New Moon Ecstatic Dance on Clifton Beach, helping with preparation, welcoming guests, environmental care and the post-event beach clean-up. The event dates are listed on our website.
“The health of a forest, a river, and a community are one and the same. When one suffers, all suffer.”
– Indigenous proverb
Ecological film nights
Each month we also host ecological documentary screenings for volunteers, people living in the house and the wider local community.
Shared screenings open thoughtful conversations about ecology, culture and how we can live in better relationship with the natural world.
Explore Cape Town independently
A 7-seater 2019 Nissan X-Trail is available for volunteers to use during their stay, making it easier to explore Cape Town, beaches, mountains and surrounding areas independently.
