Every civilization is built upon an idea of what it means to be human.

For centuries, humanity has largely organised itself around extraction, competition and ownership.

PEACE Institute exists to explore another possibility: that humans flourish most fully when they become gardeners, caretakers and participants in the living Earth.
PEACE INSTITUTE VISION
  1. A living laboratory for the future of civilization
While PEACE Institute preserves and amplifies indigenous knowledge, its primary purpose is to become a place where that wisdom transforms into practical models for the civilization of the future, a place where these models are tested and refined.

We research:

❊ shared leadership as an alternative to hierarchical leadership

❊ regenerative economies

❊ conflict resolution

❊ ecological governance

❊ community design and permaculture

❊ post-consumerist lifestyles

In essence, the Institute asks, "How should humanity implement indigenous eco technologies so that we live symbiotically with nature for the next thousand years?"

2. Rebuilding human identity and belonging
Many people today have lost a sense of belonging - to place, ancestry, or community.

The PEACE Institute cultivates a new ecological identity based not on nationality or ethnicity but on shared responsibility to care for the Earth.

We help to renew the relationship between human and nature from ego-centric to eco-centric.

We construct an ecological identity, with its own history, supportive community and forms of recognition.

We purchase lands for both, to preserve wilderness and to regenerate degraded soils. We create physical spaces for the members of our communities to visit, rest and learn on those lands, managed by indigenous people.

Indigenous ethics becomes our shared mechanism of belonging.

3. The global school for Earth guardians
We train Earth guardians. Every graduate remains part of the Institute. Graduates become ambassadors in their own countries.

Participants would leave with practical skills in:

❊ ecological restoration

❊ community leadership

❊ conflict transformation

❊ systems thinking

❊ indigenous philosophy

❊ ecological ethics

❊ regenerative farming

4. The international network of ecological communities
The PEACE Institute help connect existing ecological projects and indigenous peoples of the world, activating

Ecovillages Permaculture farms Nature-rights organisations

Indigenous communities Ecological schools Researchers Artists

One worldwide ecosystem instead of isolated projects.

5. Regeneration as culture
Today sustainability is often presented as a sacrifice creating unnecessary barriers.

The Institute presents regeneration as beauty, dance, music, architecture, food, celebration, art and fertile relationships.

Instead of asking people to consume less out of guilt, we inspire them to live differently because it is richer and more meaningful.

6. A new relationship between law and spirituality
The law reflects what a society values. Today, nature is often treated as an object, as property. PEACE Institute works toward a future in which rivers, forests, mountains and ecosystems are recognised as living entities with legal rights.

With the help of our legal team, we create and propose alternative legislations and changing Constitutions toward adopting nature as a subject protected by law. The process has started, countries like Ecuador, New Zealand and Holland pioneered such change already. With the current rate of ecological destruction, PEACE Institute is necessary to accelerate the professional legal support of nature.

PEACE Institute becomes an international bridge between:

❊ indigenous philosophy

❊ environmental science

❊ constitutional law

❊ education

❊ public policy

The voices of indigenous teachers will help to translate ecological ethics into practical institutions and legal frameworks.

7. A global commons for indigenous knowledge
The Institute creates living commons of indigenous ecological knowledge, including

❊ podcasts

❊ books

❊ multilingual translations

❊ online courses

❊ oral histories

❊ music

❊ ceremonies (where appropriate and shared with consent)

❊ architecture

❊ regenerative technologies

❊ governance models

Indigenous knowledge will be continually practiced, expanded, and shared.

The PEACE Institute exists to help humanity redesign civilization around the principles of Earth care and eco spirituality. For that, we return to indigenous wisdom that allowed indigenous peoples to live in balance with the Earth for thousands of years.

In a trance, I can change myself into a star and visit my God in the sky….and when I return, I fall to the ground as rain...and become a person again.
~ Tsitano Muburunyara, San trance ceremony leader
